Strong start
The season has kicked off and the fishing has been red hot. We have had some really good fishing for Striped Bass with fish up to 50 or so lbs in the mix. There has been an abundance of bait in the area, which has allowed us to target fish in a variety of ways and in a variety of locations.
Larger fish have been on some of the bigger bait in the area, herring and menhaden, while smaller to medium size bass have been on silver sides, juvenile herring and on the worms hatches occurring in local estuaries.
Weather you want to catch fish on fly or spin, there are plenty of options and opportunities this time of year. Setting up to be a great season! Reach out to get on the bite.

Mid Summer
We have seen really good Striped Bass fishing this summer, with cooler water temps outside Westport and toward Newport, the Bass have been willing to eat.
Early mornings are still best, but we are having mid day success chasing fish feeding on top. With the amount of small bait around, we are running into top water feeds regularly. Atlantic Bonito have made a strong showing the last few weeks, these little hard tails are fast, toothy and are great on the table.
offshore fishing has been really good when we can get there. It’s been a windy summer and that has made for long slow rides to the tuna grounds. We are running on average about 40 miles each way. An hour ride on a calm morning, but we have been doubling that.
Lots of bluefin on jigs and hopefully some yellowfin showing up soon.
I have some open dates in September and October, reach out to get on the calendar. It’s setting up to be a great fall.
Thanks,
Capt. Ray
Spring Striped
We have been enjoying great fishing in and around Westport, ma. Fishing toward the islands has also been great, catching bass that are chasing squid in the rips. Very visual fishing.
Let’s get out there
